Reaching the station without running

Paris's main stations are hard to reach by car at peak times: saturated drop-off zones, dense traffic around Gare de Lyon and Gare du Nord, and virtually no parking. A driver who knows the approaches sets you down as close to the departure hall as the layout allows.

For a TGV, fifteen to twenty minutes on the platform is enough. The margin should be taken on the road, not in the concourse: we suggest leaving forty-five minutes before departure from central Paris, an hour at peak times.

On arrival, your driver can meet you inside the station holding a name board. Mention it when booking, particularly if you are travelling with elderly relatives or children who struggle to spot a car among the drop-off traffic.
