How the price is calculated

The calculation fits in one line: the distance of the ride, multiplied by €2. A 30-kilometre ride costs €60, a 45-kilometre ride costs €90. If the result is under €20, the ride is charged €20, which covers most short rides within Paris.

The distance is the road route between your pickup and drop-off addresses, not a zone estimate. Two nearby addresses in the same arrondissement will not cost exactly the same, and that is intended: you pay for the ride you take.

Why a per-kilometre rate rather than a flat fee

Many Paris private drivers advertise flat fees per airport. They are easy to read, but a flat fee is an average: it is set to stay profitable on the longest rides in the zone, so passengers starting closer pay for the others.

A per-kilometre rate removes that average. Starting from the 17th arrondissement to CDG costs less than starting from the 15th, because the ride is shorter. And since the price is fixed at booking, you keep the predictability of a flat fee: a traffic jam on the A1 costs you nothing.

One rule for every ride also makes prices easy to check. You can verify any amount with the distance shown by your maps app.

What the price includes

The quoted price includes the ride, VAT, luggage and the usual waiting time at pickup. For a flight arrival, the driver tracks the actual landing time and waits up to 60 minutes after landing at no extra cost; at train stations, 30 minutes after arrival.

The price does not depend on the time, the day or the number of passengers. A family of four leaving at dawn on a Sunday pays exactly the same as a solo traveller on a Tuesday afternoon.

Compare before you book

For a solo traveller with hand luggage, public transport remains the cheapest way to CDG or Orly. The gap narrows as soon as two or more people travel with suitcases: for three passengers, a private car often costs less than three RER tickets, and drops you at the door.

Compared with ride-hailing apps, the main difference is price stability. Platforms adjust their rates to demand, and a Friday-evening ride or a strike day can cost far more than expected. Here, the price of a ride depends only on its distance.
